Ulla Johnson Denim debuts with an exquisite selection of four iconic styles in natural washes handmade in Los Angeles. This collection marks the natural evolution of Johnson’s enduring commitment to effortlessly beautiful silhouettes that balance ease of fit, superlative construction, and premium materials with her expert intuition for modern femininity. Arriving in velvety non-stretch denim, these instant classics have a lived-in feel, meticulously crafted by seasoned artisans with over three decades of experience at the acclaimed manufacturer Caitac, a leader in luxury denim that is moving the needle in sustainability practices. Cutting-edge technology including e-flow and wet ozone machines are used to reduce water and energy consumption during the dyeing and finishing processes.
Elongating and flattering, the four inaugural shapes—the Agnes, Elodie, Genevieve, & Daphne—embody the idea of that beloved vintage jean you have in your closet that pairs perfectly with everything, and will last a lifetime. From hand sanding to stone washes to responsible production techniques, every piece is totally unique and can take up to fourteen hours to complete. No detail is left untouched: metal hardware is custom matched to each wash, inner labels are screen printed with each style’s details, and threads are carefully selected for their authentic character in traditional denim. The leather waistband patch is embossed with the brand’s logo, a modern hieroglyph of the designer’s first name in poetically curved lettering. Rounding out our denim debut is the Odette Jacket, an elegant silhouette of gathered volumes with a fitted waist and shearling collar in our seasonal Rosewood wash.
