Crafted with love, this hand printed wax resist cloth was made in partnership with Mariama Fashion Production artisans in Cote D’Ivoire with Renee as the lead batiker.
Artists begin with the creation of custom stamps for the patterns, creating beautiful batik inspired patchworked polka dots and abstracted flowers.
The raw fabric is stamped by hand with wax to create the resist design.
Next, the fabric is dyed and hand washed. Finally, the fabric is hung to dry naturally in the sunlight.
Stitched by our partners in India, new silhouettes dance with intricate hand-smocking, trapunto-stitched bows and exuberant tiered ruffles.
