About Cassi Namoda

Cassi Namoda is a self-taught painter whose work draws on personal memories, folklore, mythology, and art history to explore colonialism and its legacy. Her childhood observations in Kenya and visits to family in Mozambique helped shape her artistry. Her work is currently showcased in major museum collections, including the Studio Museum in Harlem, Pérez Art Museum Miami, and Baltimore Museum of Art.
